Iran Imports 95ml of Euro-4 Petrol

TEHRAN August 2 (Shana)-- Iran has imported 95 million liters of euro-4 gasoline in less than a month, a deputy head of National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) said.

Shahrokh Khosravani said the euro-4 gasoline imports are in line with the government’s order to petrochemical plants to stop producing gasoline which is reported to have been carcinogenic.
Iran started importing euro-4 gasoline less than a month ago, the official said.
Ninety percent of cars manufactured in Iran conform with euro-4 standards, the secretary of Association of Iranian Car Manufacturers said recently.
Ahmad Nematbakhsh said Iranian carmakers are currently supplying energy-efficient vehicles on the market.
He said that the euro-4 standards incorporated into car parts reduce fuel consumption and help safeguard the environment.
Nematbakhsh said Peugeot 206, Samand, L-90 and Tiba are among cars meeting euro-4 standards.
Iran is working for the distribution of euro-4 grade gasoline across the country in order to stop petrochemical plant’s gasoline production.
