According to the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Houshang Seydali, NIGC’s gas supply coordination director, said the new monitoring center of Tehran Province Gas Company marks a significant step in expanding smart infrastructure and improving the accuracy of monitoring and control across the capital’s gas distribution network.
Seydali said the development of intelligent monitoring and control systems will support safer, more stable and faster services for consumers while strengthening the network’s preparedness during peak demand periods and emergency situations.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining network stability during critical conditions, noting that Tehran Province Gas Company personnel played a key role in ensuring uninterrupted service during recent incidents through rapid response, safety measures and restoration operations.
Alireza Avani, managing director of Tehran Province Gas Company, said the monitoring center was established to optimize the development, maintenance and operation of monitoring systems at the capital’s gas stations.
He added that the center is designed to collect, monitor and analyze data from major gas facilities and critical customers, enabling more effective management and oversight of the province’s gas distribution network.
Avani also highlighted the establishment of a dispatching room within the company, which provides real-time management of gas flows across stations and the broader network. The system is expected to improve operational control and enhance monitoring capabilities.
According to Avani, the center’s main functions include balancing gas supply and demand, particularly during winter months, maintaining network stability and pressure, accelerating emergency response, improving operational planning and integrating network data.
He said connecting monitoring systems and expanding the use of remote supervision technologies will allow operators to track network conditions more accurately and make faster decisions when urgent action is required.
