NIOPDC Chief Outlines Gasoline Prices

TEHRAN Mar 10 (Shana): There will be no difference between the price of newly distributed grade of gasoline named euro-4 and regular gasoline being distributed across the country, managing director of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC), Abbas Kazemi, said.

He further said that the price of the two grades of gasoline will be the same all over the country even though tariffs charging for services will be higher in 8 mega cities.

Elsewhere in his remarks he said so far NIOPDC has not allocated an especial ration of gasoline for new year holidays, Norouz, beginning 21st March 2014.

The level of gasoline storage is satisfactory, so the motorists need not worry about meeting their fuel needs during the vacations, Kazemi told Shana.

According to Kazemi, NIOPDC has stockpiled more than 1.6 billion liters of gasoline and all gas stations across the country have made necessary preparations for offering services during the holidays.

He referred to a recently launched gasoil unit in Imam Khomeini oil refinery in Shazand adding the unit will produce 10 million liters of gasoil compatible with euro-4 standards on a daily basis.

The content of sulfur in the gasoil produced by Imam Khomeini oil refinery will be less than 50 parts per million (ppm), and at the same time it will lead to removal of 50 tons of sulfur from the product per day which will be delivered to market in solid form, he said.

According to Shana, upon the completion of the development plan of Imam Khomeini oil refinery, it will produce respectively 16 million and 10 million of standard gasoline and euro-4 gasoil per day as well as about 600 tons of sulfur.
