Marun Petrochemical Company Raises Production

TEHRAN Jan 15 (Shana): Marun Petrochemical Company’s production rose by 4 percent over the first 9 months of current Iranian calendar year, began 21st March 2013.

Managing director of the company, Rahim Sharif Mousavi, made the remarks expressing satisfaction with the process of production by the company in spite of challenges arising from feedstock shortage.

He expressed hope feedstock’s new prices to be announced as soon as possible so that gas processing plants could decide on their plans for next Iranian calendar year.

Marun petrochemical plant’s annual production stands at 1.6 million tons of various petrochemical products including ethylene, ethylene glycol, polypropylene and high density polyethylene that are mainly exported to European and Asian markets.

China is the biggest customer of Marun Petrochemical Company’s products, buying mainly polymers.
