Talking to Shana, Sadri Afghah, said the initiative is approaching completion and all the NIOC’s subsidiaries will have access to the list in the near future.

‘Preparation of NIOC’s vendor list which includes comprehensive information on domestic manufacturers of oil industry parts and equipment is in its final stage and will be available in the next 30 days’, Afghah said.    

He continued: at present, it is difficult to find the domestic manufacturers’ information in one single list therefore creating a vendor list comprising all manufacturers is important.

He added by preparing a comprehensive vendor list, the companies can refer to the related website for ordering oil industry equipment and goods which will make parallel efforts unnecessary due to lacking a single vendor list for putting orders.

He stated that the companies willing to register their names in the vendor list can deliver their applications to the NIOC’s subsidiaries or the Manufacturing Support and Procurement Kala Naft Company for examination.

Pointing to prohibition of importation of those commodities their similar ones are made at home, Afghah said: domestic manufacturers and NIOC’s subsidiaries will procure the prioritized oil industry items through mutual cooperation.

Different steps have been taken to support domestic manufacturers amid efforts are underway for setting up a fund for backing domestically manufacturing, Afghah said.
