Operator of the NGL projects at Siri and Kharg Islands, Nadimi, said Siri’s NGL plant gathers 143 mcf/d of associated gases stating production of gas liquids including propane, butane and pentane will hit 10 thousand barrels per day in the next two months at the latest.
The operator referred to implementation of a project for gathering and recovery of steams in the process of producing NGL adding the project will recollect part of steam through separators’ outlets and will convert them to gas liquids.
He said Siri’s NGL plant is a self-sufficient and complete complex which includes all the steps in the process of production from taking gas as feedstock to treatment, dehydration, sweetening and preparing the products for export.
Implementation of the project in one of the furthest islands in the Persian Gulf is very valuable because concurrent with development of oil and gas fields in the area their associated gases will be transferred to Siri’s NGL plant through subsea pipelines which not only will end flaring but will generate value-added.
He noted that associated gases of Kish region will also be conveyed to Siri’s NGL plant in the near future.
Earlier Mahmoud Zirakchianzadeh, managing director of Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) estimated the annual value of Siri’s NGL plant products at 500 million dollars.
He referred to the plant as one of the most complete gathering associated gas projects which all its operations including gathering, processing, storage and exports are compatible with international standards.
As the first NGL project in IOOC, Siri NGL plant came online early this year with the aim of gathering associated gases and putting an end to flaring in the Persian Gulf region.
