Oil supply measures offer hope, lawmaker says

SHANA (Tehran) — The head of the Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee said the Oil Ministry’s measures to secure the country’s fuel supply are highly encouraging amid current conditions.

Speaking Monday after a meeting between committee members and Oil Ministry officials, committee chairman Ebrahim Azizi said the ministry had taken valuable actions to ensure fuel supplies during both the recent 12-day and 40-day conflicts.

“We met today with the oil minister and senior officials of the Oil Ministry, who have worked effectively to provide the country’s fuel needs,” Azizi said.

He praised employees across the oil industry and stressed the importance of cooperation between the Oil Ministry and Parliament’s national security committee, noting that many issues related to the oil sector are directly tied to national security and social stability.

Azizi said Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad has maintained close coordination with Parliament, particularly with the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee. He added that lawmakers and ministry officials discussed the latest developments in Iran’s oil industry and issues linked to national security.

The lawmaker also called for greater use of existing capacities and diversification in energy production and consumption, including alternative fuel options.

According to Azizi, ministry officials have emphasized that energy consumption management policies should be implemented in a way that avoids placing additional economic pressure on the public.

He said the Oil Ministry is making every effort to meet fuel demand in both the household and industrial sectors.

Azizi added that reports presented during the meeting on the ministry’s latest measures reflected “effective management” and offered hope under current conditions.

He said coordination among Parliament, the government and other state institutions would help neutralize threats against the country.
