Oil industry workers prevented halt to national economy

SHANA (Tehran) – President Masoud Pezeshkian said Iran’s oil and petrochemical industry workers prevented the country’s production cycle and national economy from grinding to a halt through courage and self-sacrifice.

According to president.ir, Pezeshkian made the remarks Tuesday in a message to a ceremony honoring martyrs of the petrochemical industry.

He said the event commemorated “great individuals” who, during the difficult and decisive days of the imposed Ramadan war, stood on the front line of economic jihad and defended Iran’s independence and authority.

When the American and Zionist enemy and their regional supporters, after failing to achieve their malicious objectives, targeted the country’s economic infrastructure and vital arteries, it was the brave sons of Iran, including the dedicated workers of the oil and petrochemical industries, who through courage and self-sacrifice did not allow production and the national economic cycle to stop, Pezeshkian said.

He added that the industry’s martyrs demonstrated that sacrifice is not limited to the battlefield, saying steadfastness in production and protecting the country’s economic independence during wartime are also manifestations of sacred struggle.

Pezeshkian said Iran’s current strength is rooted in a culture of sacrifice, self-reliance and resistance among people who kept production moving under the harshest conditions. He added that the country’s ability to navigate current challenges also depends on the same spirit.

The president said honoring the families of martyrs and veterans in the sector renews commitment to values underpinning Iran’s dignity, security and progress.

He also thanked organizers of the ceremony and said the pure blood of the martyrs would further illuminate the country’s path toward progress, independence and economic and industrial development.
