Petrochemical officials meet in Ahvaz to discuss feedstock stability

SHANA (Tehran) – Officials have explored ways to secure sustainable feedstock for petrochemical plants in Mahshahr, Iran.

During a meeting in Ahvaz, Hassan Abbaszadeh, managing director of the National Petrochemical Company, and Ramin Hatami, managing director of the National Iranian South Oilfields Company (NISOC), discussed the need for greater synergy within the oil industry to ensure stable feedstock supplies for petrochemical complexes, according to the NPC.

Hatami expressed his company’s full readiness to cooperate with the petrochemical industry across various sectors.

The meeting also established a working group comprising the National Petrochemical Co., the NISOC and the Bou Ali Sina Petrochemical Co. to study sustainable feedstock supply options through investments in associated gas gathering.

Other topics discussed included the potential to increase feedstock for the Razi petrochemical plant by having the company invest in development projects with the National Iranian Oil Company, as well as boosting gas deliveries to increase capacity at the Gachsaran petrochemical plant.
