Need to begin gas consumption management in gov't sectors

SHANA (Tehran) - The CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company called for serious follow-up on consumption reform plans and optimization programs in 1405, emphasizing gas usage management in government sectors, particularly gas offices and affiliated companies.

According to the NIGC, Saeid Tavakoli said Sunday (March 29) during a video conference with provincial gas company CEOs that the continuation of consumption optimization projects is essential. He added that promoting public participation in energy conservation through service companies has been one of the company’s most important measures, and that effective implementation is not possible without meaningful public involvement.
He also expressed appreciation for the round-the-clock efforts of managers, supervisors, emergency responders and employees in the gas industry, especially in maintenance, resolving technical issues, maintaining stable gas flow for customers during wartime conditions, and protecting infrastructure in affected areas.
Emphasizing the key role of human capital in achieving the gas industry’s strategic goals, Tavakoli said the current conditions highlight the staff's resilience and dedication on the front lines of public service.
Tavakoli also stressed the importance of gas meter readings, saying provincial gas companies must carry out meter readings and issue customer bills in compliance with relevant guidelines.
He underscored that consumption management must begin with government entities themselves, particularly gas offices and their subsidiaries. He added that the company’s approach has been to start optimization within the government, and under a Cabinet resolution, programs have been implemented to closely monitor and control gas consumption in public institutions, yielding notable results.
