Household gas use accounts for 64% of total on Wednesday

SHANA (Tehran) – Household, commercial and small industrial users consumed 64% of the natural gas delivered to Iran’s national grid on Feb. 3, according to the National Iranian Gas Company.

An analysis of nationwide consumption patterns shows that despite a recent decline; the share of household and commercial use remains high. Company data show gas consumption by households, commercial users and small industries reached 549 million cubic meters on that day, equal to 64% of total gas supplied to the network.

The company said adherence to consumption guidelines and the use of standard heating equipment play a key role in maintaining grid stability and preventing added strain during peak demand periods.

The National Iranian Gas Company emphasized that demand management in the household and commercial sectors is critical to ensuring network stability and meeting the needs of other sectors. It urged consumers to follow efficiency guidelines and conserve energy to help sustain reliable gas supplies nationwide.

Optimizing consumption, particularly during colder days, not only supports grid stability but also facilitates gas deliveries to industrial users, the company said.
