Household, commercial use accounts for 81% of gas in national network

SHANA (Tehran) – Natural gas consumption by households, commercial users and small industries accounted for 81% of total production on the fourth day of Bahman (January 24) as cold weather persisted.

Use in the three sectors reached 702 million cubic meters on Saturday, the fourth of Bahman (January 24), representing 81% of the total gas delivered to Iran’s national grid. The figure was down 13 million cubic meters from the previous day, Friday, January 23.

The National Iranian Gas Company said managing consumption in the household and commercial sectors plays a decisive role in maintaining network stability and meeting demand in other sectors. It said setting indoor temperatures in homes and workplaces at 20 degrees Celsius is the simplest and most effective way to curb use.

The company urged customers to follow efficiency guidelines and conserve gas to help ensure stable nationwide supplies. Observing optimal consumption patterns, particularly during cold days, not only supports grid reliability but also helps secure fuel for industrial users.
