According to NPC, CEO Hassan Abbaszadeh made the remarks Tuesday at a specialized conference of petrochemical industry managers for health, safety, environment and passive defense (HSE). He highlighted the importance of all sectors related to HSE and said preventive and appropriate measures taken by HSE teams before the 12-day war played a significant role in facilitating decision-making by managers and crisis management teams, enabling the implementation of control measures and reducing potential consequences.
Emphasizing that HSE issues, based on lessons learned, must receive greater attention from industry managers, Abbaszadeh said actions should be planned and implemented in line with identified needs, challenges and prevailing requirements by the CEOs of petrochemical companies.
He described safety as a matter of governance and reiterated that decisions related to this field must be made in an integrated manner and in line with national interests.
The specialized conference of petrochemical industry HSE and passive defense managers was held from Dec. 22 to Dec. 23, attended by the director general of HSE at the Ministry of Oil, the HSE director of NPC, and HSE managers from petrochemical holdings and companies.
