Zangeneh Heads to Scene of Tehran Refinery Fire

TEHRAN (Shana) -- The Iranian Minister of Petroleum visited the Tehran Oil Refinery to investigate the scale of the fire which struck the facility on Wednesday evening.

Bijan Zangeneh entered the refinery on Wednesday evening to investigate the details and dimensions of the Tehran refinery fire.

The Minister of Petroleum also attended a meeting of the Crisis Management Headquarters of the refinery to investigate the causes of the fire and take the necessary measures to extinguish it.

At 07:18 pm local time on Wednesday, a large fire broke out due to a leak in cold slops tanks of the Tehran refinery, and rescue and fire brigades rushed to control and extinguish the fire.

The fire has now been contained and efforts are being made to extinguish it, and fortunately there have been no casualties.
