In a decree, Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad cited Shakeri's experience, commitment and professional record as the basis for the appointment, which will be held in addition to his current responsibilities.
Paknejad expressed confidence that Shakeri would oversee the company's affairs and carry out its missions with diligence, while drawing on the expertise and capabilities of the country's petrochemical industry workforce.
The minister also wished Shakeri success in fulfilling his new responsibilities.
