TEHRAN –- With the start of the piling operations aimed at installing the second Single Buoy Mooring (SBM) at the offshore section of the South Pars Oil and Gas Field development phases 6, 7 and 8, the development operation of the field is over 80 percent complete, said a fax release by the South Pars Oil and Gas Co. on Monday.
Installations of the buoys will take about 10 days, the report said adding that, they will be used for transferring gas condensates from the refinery located at the phases to the giant vessels for exports. The first buoy installed at the phases one through five of the field in 2002, are already fully operational.
According to the report, development phases of the giant oil and gas field are planned to daily yield of about 80 million cubic meters of sour and dry gas plus 120,000 barrels of gas condensates for export. Moreover, 1,200,000 tons of LPC will be exported from the phases per year.
Statoil Co. has been contracted to develop the phases 6,7 and 8 which are expected to annually earn the country about 4.5 billion dollars. The phases are planned to come on stream by August next year.
