Studies on Developing Rag Sefid Concluded

TEHRAN -- Studies related to developing Rag Sefid oil field, which are part of a broader project to develop eight south Iranian oil fields known as 'Eight Fields Project' have concluded.

Development project for developing Rag Sefid oil field aims at increasing production from 180,000 barrels per day to 250,000 barrels a day and this will be carried out by drilling 27 developmental wells, establishing new gas injection installations as well as injecting as much gas as 674 million cu. ft. (19 million cu. m.). The Eight Fields Project aims to maintain current production from south oil fields up to 1.228 million barrels and increase crude oil production capacity to 399,000 barrel per day. At present, studies on six oil fields have finished. Total progress on Eight Fields Project has been reported at 96.67 percent by the first half of the fifth Iranian month of Mordad (July 22 - August 21).
