According to details, POL had started Oil and Gas exploration operations in this area in 1993. Since then POL has managed to develop this field very successfully, during which it has installed state of the are and most modern processing plant including a POLGAS LPG filling plant. The total production of the field is approximately 9000 barrels of oil and 25 million cft of natural gas. It has also been learned that POL investing money for the social uplift of the area. Up till now, POL has undertaken Social Welfare Projects worth Rs 23 million including construction of rooms for schools, provisions of furniture to schools, labs, provision of computers to schools, construction of road etc. The Welfare programs mainly target educational sector and infrastructure development to have broad-based effect and benefit maximum masses of the area. POL has initiated a project of Degree College at Chak Bedi Khan with an initial investment of Rs 5 million whereas to incite competition among students, the company intends to award scholarships up to Rs 100 000 for High School students at Chak Beli Khan. On the other hand, POL operations in the area have provided employment opportunities to the locals of the area. Landowners are being paid handsome rental rates for their land under company operational use. Landowners are also being given priority award of general contracts involving civil works and other services that open up further employment in the vicinity. It should be mentioned that the District and Tehsil Administration has appreciated the POL developmental projects.
