Esfarayens Bidvaz Dam to Become Operational

TEHRAN – Director of Bidvaz dam project of Esfarayen noted that the dam was 98 percent complete and will be inaugurated in near future.

Mohammad Kamran told Petroenergy Information Network that the dam will regulate 39.3 million cu. m. water per annum. He said the dam will supply 5 million cu. m. potable water per year as well as 34.2 million cu. m. water for agricultural purposes. Kamran put total credits allocated to the project at 160 billion rials, adding, “The am and its irrigation network will create jobs for 700 people in the region.” He said the dam will supply enough water for irrigating agricultural dams around Esfarayen and will also supply the city with adequate drinking water. “Esfarayen dam is an earthen dam with clay core. Its crown length is 105 m with a total pool volume of 53 million cu. m. and a basin area of 427 sq. km.” he noted.
