SPGC Supplying 650,000 b/d Condensate

ASALUYEH (Shana) -- South Pars Gas Complex (SPGC) is currently producing 650,000 barrels per day of gas condensate, the company's CEO said.

South Korea is the biggest buyer of Iran's gas condensate but the country has devised several major projects, including Persian Gulf Star Condensate Refinery as well as Siraf Refining Park, to process its condensate output into value added items.

Hadi Hashemzadeh Farhang said SPGC's output accounts for 70 percent of Iran's energy mix, adding the complex has so far run 10 strategic gas refineries and is about to launch two more refineries in the near future.

The refineries will be fed by the gas recovered from phases 13, 22 and 24 of the supergiant South Pars Gas Field, he said.

For the time being, 650,000 b/d of gas condensate, over 10,000 tons of ethane, over 10,000 tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and nearly 1,800 tons of sulfur are being at POGC, Mr. Farhang added.
