NIGC Plans 200 mcm/d gas Export by 2021

TEHRAN (Shana) -- The CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) said the company was planning to bring Iran’s natural gas exports to 200 million cubic meters per day from currently 60 mcm/d by 2021.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, Hamid Reza Araqi said once NIGC exports the amount of gas by 2021, end of the country’s 6th five-year development plan, it would be supplying over a billion cubic meters of gas per day given the supply of 0.8 bcm/d domestically.

He said neighboring states are Iran’s priority for gas exports, adding construction of gas pipelines as well as sending LNG shipments are considered by NIGC for gas exports.
