Petchem Exports hit $8.5b in 9 Months

TEHRAN, Jan. 17 (Shana) – Iran exported over 16.4 million tons of petrochemical products in the first three quarters of the current Iranian calendar year which began on March 21, generating 8.5 billion dollars in petrochemical revenues.

According to National Petrochemical Company (NPC), the petrochemical plants operating at Pars Special Economic Energy Zone, Asaluyeh, exported 8.3 million tons of petrochemicals valued at $4.3 billion.

Moreover, the plants operating in Mahshahr Petrochemical Zone, southwestern province of Khuzestan, exported 4.6 million tons of products worth $2.4b during the 9 months.

The plants operating in other parts of the country yielded 3.4 million tons of products in the period for $2.78b.
