Iran Recovers 85bcm of Gas from South Pars in H1

TEHRAN, Nov. 13 (Shana) – Iran's production of natural gas from the supergiant South Pars Gas Field reached 85.4 billion cubic meters in the first 6 months of the current Iranian calendar year which began on March 21.

According to Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC), the country recovered 155.23 bcm of rich sour gas from the field last calendar year.

14 offshore platforms became operational at the field during President Rouhani's first term in office which have so far produced 135.60 bcm of gas.

Currently 25 platforms are operating at the gas field that is shared with Qatar in Persian Gulf waters.

Production of gas from the field will reach 570.5 million cubic meters per day by the end of the current calendar year.
