ANGVA can Boost Cooperation in CNG Industry: Official

TEHRAN, Oct. 23 (Shana) – The upcoming conference and exhibition of Asia Pacific Natural Gas Vehicles Association (ANGVA) in Tehran can boost cooperation in compressed natural gas (CNG) industry, an Iranian oil official says.

Director of CNG projects at the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) Ali Mehrabi believes that hosting the event in Iran will improve interactions in the industry.

The previous editions of the event were held in the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, India and China and brought about considerable and constructive results for members of the association, he said.

Beginning on October 31, the three day conference and exhibition will host Iranian and foreign companies active in CNG industry.

Iran is to introduce its major compressed natural gas (CNG) projects to potential investors at the upcoming conference and exhibition of ANGVA in Tehran.

The event is aimed at boosting consumption of natural gas as the clean source of energy in the transportation sector.

The National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC), the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), Iran National Standards Organization, Iran's presidential office, the Department of Environment, the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Commerce and the Ministry of Interior Affairs are among the Iranian organizations and bodies that have supported the event.

Based on 28th ANGVA Board meeting held in January 2015, Iran has been officiated as host of the 7th ANGVA Biennial International conference and Exhibition (ANGVA 2017).

The event will be held in Iran as one of the significant members of ANGVA and with considering the huge potential of investment opportunities in the field of oil and gas in our country.

Over the past decade, Iran -as the holder of the world’s first largest gas reserves, has become the biggest manufacturer and consumer of the mostly related CNG equipment in the world. Having extra capabilities in the country such as vast variety of gas transmission and distribution network, along with four million natural gas vehicles and around 2300 CNG refueling stations enable us to reach the top position in CNG industry among world’s countries. This exhibition and conference will highlight and discuss the opportunities and challenges of infrastructure and technologies development and deployment in the push for utilization of natural gas and other alternative fuels for the transport sector.

Iran as old as history itself inherits one of the most ancient civilizations of the planet. Throughout the years, its culture has influenced different parts of the globe from the Nile River to the heart of Europe. Along with its splendid history and culture, Iran is diverse land and has a great variety of geographical environment which offers a sense of paradise for all of the nature lovers.

The three-day conference and exhibition was jointly organized by three major NGV and Alternative fuels related associations in Iran i.e. The Iranian CNG Association, the CNG Equipment Manufacturers Association, and The Alternative Fuels Association, along with ANGVA. The event was approved and supported by National Iranian Oil Refining & Distribution Company (NIORDC), National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), Iran National Standards Organization, Iranian Vice–President for Science and Technology, Department of the Environment of I.R. Iran, Ministry of Industries and Business, Transportation and Fuel Management Headquarter, Interior Ministry, Pardis-ANGVA Learning Center and etc. NGV Global, KANGV, and KEITI also supported ANGVA 2017.

ANGVA 2017 will feature both the exhibition of Natural Gas vehicles and other alternative fuels technology applications and international conference. Biogas, CNG, LNG, ANG, Hybrid, EVs, HCNG and hydrogen as motor fuel, small scale LNG, refueling technologies, heavy duty transportation, gas trailer offloading applications, such as Virtual Pipeline (VPL) daughter stations – all this and much more are included in the event.

Iran NGV industry including CNG refueling stations, Car manufacturers, equipment suppliers, consultants, Governmental representatives as well as all alternative fuel companies are eagerly looking forward to meeting you all in the conference where decision makers, politicians and well-known oil and gas company owners will be gather together in ANGVA 2017 exhibition in Iran.

The Asia Pacific Natural Gas Vehicles Association (ANGVA) was established in 2002 and is a trade association for the natural gas vehicles industry in the Asia Pacific region. It serves the needs of fleet operators, vehicle manufacturers, OEMs, gas suppliers, equipment suppliers, refueling equipment providers, consultants, government representatives, NGOs and others involved with the natural gas vehicle industry by promoting the use of natural gas as a transport fuel, by defining industry standards and guidelines and by providing training

The activities of the Association are governed by the Board and its committees and implemented by the Secretariat. The first board election was held in Oct 2003 in Manila, Philippines. The Secretariat office is currently based in Malaysia. ANGVA provides NGV related information to members and helps members to communicate and share their experiences for improving the NGV industry in their countries. Moreover ANGVA is dedicated to developing an industry with highest technical and safety standards covering the entire Asia Pacific region. ANGVA also involves the leadership of the NGV community to influence activities and policies that provide increased market opportunities.
