Shahsavar Arghash, director of Qeshm Island Operations at IOOC, said the facility has been developed with 80 million cubic meters of gas processing capacity and will soon come online.
He said once the facility becomes operational the field's flare stack in Qeshm Island will snuff out, preserving the environment.
Moreover, the gas needed by the island's power plant and industries will be supplied and the excess will be transferred to Bandar Abbas for consumption.
Arghash said the project's investment will return in a matter of less than a year.
The island sits atop 17 hydrocarbon fields which can turn the region into a gas hub in Persian Gulf once fully developed.
