SP. 20, 21 Operational

TEHRAN, Apr. 16 (Shana) -- South Pars Phases 20 and 21 development projects started on Sunday in a ceremony held in the presence of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.

Held at Iran's oil hub Assalouyeh, the ceremony also saw the presence of Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh.

SP. 20 and SP. 21 are developed for the production 56.6 mcm/d of rich natural gas, 75,000 b/d of natural gas condensate, 400 tons of sulfur and annually 1.05 million tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) including propane and butane and a million tons of ethane to be fed to petrochemical plants. 

drilling rigs 100% owned by Iranian companies were used for spudding 88,000 meters at 22 wells at the offshore South Pars phases. 

The projects were developed by a consortium led by Oil Industries Engineering and Construction Company (OIEC).
