Iran to Launch 5 Gas Pressure Stations

TEHRAN, March 07 (Shana) – Iran is to launch gas pressure station facilities on Thursday in order to boost its gas delivery capacity by 50 million cubic meters.

Spokesperson of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Majid Boujarzadeh said a ceremony will be held on the day in the presence of senior officials from the government cabinet and the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum to launch the facilities.

First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri, Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh and NIGC Managing Director Hamid Reza Araghi are scheduled to attend a ceremony that will be held to launch the projects. 

The facilities are located in the cities of Khonj, Jahrom, Safa Shahr, Naein and Kashan which are cities located in various parts of the country. 

Each of the facilities are equipped with 4 25-megawatt turbo-compressors which were installed within a period of 30 months with IRR11,600b of investment. 

The projects were all carried out by Iranian developers. 

He also said each of the turbo-compressors were constructed by Iranian manufacturers, too.

Once operational, the five stations will bring NIGC's gas delivery capacity to 110 mcm/d from currently 60 mcm/d.
