DOE Chief Hails Admin for Supporting Euro-4 Petrol Production

TEHRAN, Nov. 19 (Shana) -- The chief of Iran's Department of Environment (DOE) has hailed the Rouhani administration for "taking firm steps" towards standardization of gasoline and gasoil to save the environment in Iran.

Masoumeh Ebtekar, the DOE chief, said the administration of President Rouhani has taken important steps to standardize gasoline and gasoil output of the country and has promoted the quality of the cars produced domestically.

Reacting to the choking air pollution in Tehran, capital of Iran, Ebtekar said the administration has devised an integrated plant to tackle air pollution, saying the government cabinet is well-learned about how to address pollution in major cities of the country.

She said the plans are long-term ones and will take at least 15 years before they will become fruitful and will involve 16 government organs.
