Shamkhani: Iran, India to Expand Oil Cooperation

TEHRAN, Aug 28 (Shana) – Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani says Iran-India cooperation in oil, energy, transit and cargo transportation will expand speedily.

Speaking at the end of his two-day visit to India, Shamkhani said Iran and India will also cooperate in cyber security, science, technology and technological information sharing.

He said he had offered a set of proposals to the Indian party and they had welcomed them.

He noted that Iran-India ties will benefit national welfare, regional stability and not being against a third country.

The official said repayment of the oil debt and Chabahar agreement were the most important topics of discussions between he and the Indian side.

He said all India's oil purchases will be in cash and efforts are underway for repayment of the remaining debt of the country.

Shamkhani wound up his two-day official visit to India on Saturday.
