Maroon Increases Oil Desalination Capacity

TEHRAN, Aug 14 (Shana) – Managing Director of Maroon Oil and Gas Exploitation Company Jahangir Pourhang said on Saturday that his company's capacity of oil desalination in south oil rich regions will increase following operation of the Koupal and Maroon Bangestan III desalination units.

Pourhang told Shana that Koupal facility will run with the capacity of desalinating 95,000 bpd, while Maroon Bangestan III with the capacity of desalinating 55,000 bpd oil.

He said Koupal and Maroon Bangestan III desalination units will increase Maroon Oil and Gas Exploitation Company's desalination capacity by 150,000 bpd. 

He added that once the two facilities are operational, his company will have no problem with oil desalination. 

The Maroon Oil and Gas Exploitation Company is one of the five exploitation companies affiliated to the National South Oil Fields Company, which came on stream in 2000.

Maroon Oil and Gas Exploitation Company started activity with about 600,000 bpd oil production.
