Tehran Refinery Run Cut for Overhaul

TEHRAN, Aug 06 (Shana) – Tehran (Martyr Tondgouyan) Refinery has been shut on Saturday for an overhaul after 4 years.

Director of the Water, Power and Steam administration of the refinery told Shana that the overhaul will be carried out over the distillation unit of the refinery and will cut its production for 25 days.

Akbar Kazemi said the smallest parts and equipment of the unit will be overseen during the overhaul.

The distillation unit of the refinery can process 125,000 barrels of crude per day. 

The refinery has not undergone an overhaul operation since 2012.

The refinery was primarily developed for processing 85,000 b/d of oil which was raised to 120,000 b/d after upgrading the facility in 1976.
