SPD19 to Be Installed in Persian Gulf Shortly

TEHRAN, July 16 (Shana) – Operations to install South Pars platform 19A with 500 million cubic feet capacity will start in its location in Persian Gulf in hours.

The SPD19A is among phases to which the Ministry of Petroleum has given priority. This year, two billion cubic feet phase will be operational .

Two of the platforms of the phase, namely 19A and 19B, will be operational. Early July the platform 19C was put into operation.

Meanwhile, Head of the Public Relations Department at the Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company Mojtaba Rahimi said Abuzar 110 vessel, which carries two platforms namely 19A and 21 in parallel in Persian Gulf, has started moving towards Persian Gulf from Assalouyeh since Wednesday to install the 19A platform and in one week to 10 days, it will install the platform 21.

Since the climatic conditions for installation of the platform in South Pars is not ripe, the operations will be implemented in hours.

The South Pars gas field is located approximately 100 km off the Iranian coast in the Persian Gulf. Phase 19 of the South Pars gas field is developed to allow a gas production of 2000 MMSCFD.
