Shahdaie: Upgrading Production Profitability Is Post-JCPOA Target

TEHRAN, July 05 (Shana) – Deputy Minister of Petroleum for Petrochemical Affairs Marzieh Shahdaie said on Tuesday that in the post-JCPOA era, policies of her company will be based on upgrading production profitability and procedures by connections with the companies enjoying related know-how.

Shahdaie told Shana that during sanctions, when there was no international cooperation, companies had problems with production of the products which completed petrochemical production chain due to lack of access to necessary technology.

She said that now, when international relations have been improved, manufacturing companies try to receive the know-how for complementary technical expertise from international companies, thus upgrading production profitability and procedures.

She noted, "Our products that are now basic products and are exported, should be turned into products with higher value-added and preferably raw material sale should be avoided and gain more value-added."

The official said the goal would be met in light of absorbing necessary technology from which the country was deprived for years due to sanctions.
