Bandar Abbas Refinery to Boost Output

TEHRAN, June 05 (Shana) – Iran is to boost the gasoline output of Bandar Abbas Refinery by September 2016 as the refinery will launch a new gasoline production plant by then, an official said.

Speaking with Shana, Shahrokh Khosravani, deputy managing director of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC), said the gasoline production and continuous catalytic regeneration (CCR) units of the refinery will be launched by late September.

He said all the required machinery and equipment for installation of the units have been purchased and are being installed at their designed spot.

Khosravani said the projects are being carried out with the aim of boosting the refinery's output and the quality of its gasoline output.

The refinery will produce euro-4 petrol once the two projects come online, he said.

The project was initially set to become operational in 36 months, but the deadline was recently extended to September this year.

Once fully operational, this project will be producing 21,000 b/d of low-density naphtha, 25,000 b/d of high-density naphtha and 120 tons a day of sulfur.
