Bandar Abbas Oil Refinery Upgrading Nearly Complete

TEHRAN Jan 28(Shana)--Bandar Abbas oil refinery’s upgrading plan is 93% compelete and will be completed during the second half of next Iranian calendar year to March 20 2016 under which the refinery will produce 6 million liters of gasoline and 8 million liters of gasoil with eruo-5 specifications.

Executive manager of the Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) Hamid Sharifrazi said the project has made progress by 93 percent so far.

He further noted that the process has so far cost as much as 329 million euros and 7.450 billion IR rials.

Gasoline-making unit of the project has made progress by 85 percent up to now, he said, stating utility units of the project will come online as of the beginning of next Iranian calendar year on late March 2015.

“Upgrading plan of Bandar Abbas oil refinery will provide the opportunity for reducing benzene content to less than one percent, sulfur to less than 10 ppm and aromatics to less than 35 percent, with positive impacts on lessening pollution.
