Daneshmand who is also a member of Tehran Chamber of Commerce, said if the private sector is not capable of investment in construction of small refineries, Iran should try to attract foreign investment to carry out these projects.
He hailed Petroleum Ministry’s decision to ask the private sector to participate in construction of small refineries as a rational measure that could help prevent selling crude oil which is also in line with Resistance Economy policies outlined by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Elsewhere in his remarks, he called for all or at least the majority of the country’s refineries to be handed over to the private sector.
He added that if the private sector fails to invest in construction of small refineries, the country could make use of potential foreign investors.
Ministry of Petroleum, in a recent public call, invited the private sector to participate in construction of 8 small condensate refineries in Assaluyeh in southern Iran. The ministry has introduced a range of incentives for the private sector to invest in the projects.
