Gasoline Steam Recovery, a Profitable Project

TEHRAN June 19 (Shana)--Iran could earn IRR 2.5 trillion every year from recovering gasoline from gasoline steam, a senior official with the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company said.

Abdollah Molla Baqer said a relevant project is under way for recovering gasoline steam.
“The project will be highly profitable, in addition to serving the environment,” he said.
“If the average daily consumption of gasoline is 65 ml, its annual consumption would reach 22 billion liters,” he said.
The official added that the gasoline steam recovery project will produce 100 billion liters a year of gasoline.
The gasoline steam recovery project was first approved in 2008. It is expected to become operational in 2016.
Iran has to import gasoline every year to meet its growing demand for fuel. Iran’s refineries produce around 60 ml/d of gasoline.
Iran’s Petroleum Ministry has started distributing euro-4 grade gasoline mainly in big cities in an attempt to reduce pollution.
