“Last year, 238.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas was consumed in the country,” said the dispatching director of NIGC.

Mohammad Reza Julaei told Shana: “Out of the total amount of gas consumed, 122 bcm was consumed by the domestic sector, 45 bcm by commercial and non-major industries, 45.5 bcm by major industries and 71 bcm by power plants during the year.”

He said: "Gas consumption set new records last year, especially in the power generation and domestic sectors, but this issue was managed and no gas outages occurred in the country."
